Learning Guide: 24 Days of Changemakers

$0.00

This guide is divided into 25 separate mini-lessons - one for each day of December leading up to Christmas, and one for the day after. Each day, kids will be introduced to a new influential figure who has sparked change in the world. Some are historical figures from the past who have impacted our lives, while others are still doing important work today actively paving the way for future generations.

After engaging in learning activities about each figure along with guiding questions for personal connection and meaning-making, kids are invited to create an ornament representing that person for their Christmas tree. Ornaments will make great conversation starters with friends and family, and will serve as a reminder of all the different and powerful ways we all can make the world a better place.

Included in this Guide (25 total mini-lessons):

1) 24 mini-lessons on influential people from history and present day. *Each mini-lesson includes a children’s book recommendation, guided reading questions for the story, 1-2 additional learning resources about that person, and guidance on creating an ornament representing the person or something about their story that you personally connected to.

2) 1 mini-lesson and Process Art project for the day/week AFTER Christmas

*This guide is easily adaptable for all ages (including adults!). All book recommendations are picture books, but are sure to offer new learning for any age group. Other online resources for each lesson are also linked which can make each lesson adaptable for older kids as well.
