Learning Guide: Día de los Muertos
Día de los Muertos is a holiday of remembrance, celebration, and gratitude for those who came before. When learning about a culture and traditions that are not your own, it can be easy to try and appreciate that culture by acting, dressing, or otherwise engaging in ways that might actually be harmful. This can be an easy trap to fall into, particularly with Día de los Muertos, as it has gained more popularity and visibility in the US in recent years. This learning guide provides ways to engage in learning, appreciation, and making meaningful connections along with kids without appropriating the culture or the traditions of the holiday.
