Learning Guide: The Forest & Community Care

$0.00

ESSENTIAL QUESTION: What can the forest teach us about caring for ourselves and each other?

Did you know trees communicate underground? Did you know they are connected through complex networks and share with each other so all can thrive together?

In this learning guide, kids will have a chance to explore the amazing ways forests share resources and care for each other for the good of the whole ecosystem. This new learning will then be translated to ways that WE can give and receive support in community with others, how we can advocate for our own needs and offer our gifts to others, and how we can learn from the forest about caring for each other to co-create a more equitable world.

This guide is easily adaptable to ALL age groups with resources included for early years (PreK-3rd) as well as intermediate/secondary grades (4th+).

Included in this Guide:

1. Resource list (read/watch/listen) for science concepts + additional book lists for extending learning

2. Guiding Questions & Key Vocabulary

3. Guided Self-Reflection Activity

4. Process Art Activity
